Job Summary:

The Assistant Project Manager I is responsible for assisting Project Managers and field leadership with planning, coordination, execution, and closeout of pipeline and facilities construction project.  Duties include supporting project cost tracking, schedule and progress monitoring, vendor invoicing, purchase order administration, contractor quote coordination, project documentation, client and supplier communication, and helping ensure crews have the equipment, materials, and information needed to complete work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.

Primary Job Function:

  • Support Project team members in monitoring contractual commitments to help ensure work is performed in accordance with specifications, drawings, and contract terms, and assist with the processing of trends, change orders, and claims.
  • Assist with reviewing invoices and applications for payment for accuracy, completion percentage, and supporting documentation, and escalate questions or discrepancies to the Project Manager.
  • Assist with project financial reporting, including follow-up on A/R, unbilled items, cost tracking, and weekly project updates under the direction of the Project Manager.
  • Support project team members with the review, tracking, and maintenance of project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
  • Support project closeout activities, including organizing required documentation, tracking completion items, and assisting with post-job reviews to ensure records are complete.
  • Maintain accurate project tracking tools, including databases, spreadsheets, schedules, logs, and other computer-based applications used to monitor project performance and progress.
  • Assist with preparing project reports, process flow diagrams, layout drawings, data sheets, meeting notes, and other technical or administrative project documentation.
  • Provide project support to project personnel as directed by the Project Manager or leadership team.

Experience:

  • Field experience in the construction of pipelines, compressor and pump stations, production facilities, measurement stations, and other upstream oil and gas facilities is desirable.
  • Strong computer experience with Microsoft Office products, specifically excel with the ability to create and maintain spreadsheets and documents.

 

Education/Training:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Competencies:

  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.
  • Basic knowledge of budget tracking and contract and accounting terminology, with the ability to learn and apply project controls processes.
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and follow-through skills.
  • Displays strong written and oral communication skills and employs effective listening skills.
  • Displays tactful, mature and professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work with diverse personnel.
