Business Development Manager – West Texas

Job Summary

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving Strike’s market growth across West Texas by cultivating strategic relationships, identifying new opportunities, and securing contracts in alignment with the company’s core service lines. This role requires a strong understanding of regional energy infrastructure and industrial markets, including pipeline construction, facilities, terminals, compressor stations, renewable energy projects, natural gas, and carbon capture initiatives. The BDM will lead and develop a business development team to expand Strike’s presence with key operators, producers, and midstream companies operating in the Permian Basin and surrounding areas.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Market Growth & Strategy

    • Build and execute a regional business development strategy tailored to West Texas markets, aligning with Strike’s core strengths in pipeline and facilities construction, terminals, and energy transition projects.

    • Identify and evaluate potential opportunities by researching operators, projects, competitors, and market trends specific to the Permian Basin and broader West Texas region.

  • Client Engagement

    • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers at oil & gas operators, midstream companies, and renewable energy developers.

    • Serve as the point of contact for new and existing clients, ensuring Strike is positioned as a trusted partner in project execution.

  • Execution & Accountability

    • Meet or exceed revenue and margin targets through disciplined pipeline management.

    • Provide accurate forecasts and updates to executive leadership regarding West Texas growth opportunities.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 6+ years of progressive business development experience within the oil & gas infrastructure, facilities construction, pipeline, renewable, or carbon capture sectors.

  • Deep knowledge of the Permian Basin / West Texas energy market with established client relationships preferred.

  • Proven success in identifying, negotiating, and closing large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Competencies

  • Strong background in sales planning, prospecting, and contract negotiation.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals in a competitive market.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage at both executive and field levels.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM platforms; familiarity with SharePoint preferred.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
