Mechanical Engineer

Spring, TX - Full Time

This will be an onsite position at our Spring, TX location!


The Mechanical Engineer will work under the supervision of the lead mechanical engineer, applying their skills and expertise to engineering projects. Responsibilities include assisting with planning, conducting, and evaluating approaches to meet project objectives in a timely, cost-effective fashion. This position will work as part of a project team in the execution of capital projects for new construction as well as facility upgrades and improvements.

Primary Job Function:
• Develop and review project calculations such as stress analyses, MOAP/Hydrostatic
Test validation,and Pipeline Pull Force Calculation.
• Prepare/Review preliminary rotating equipment and valves datasheets, prepare RFQ
documentation and perform technical evaluations of vendor quotes.
• Oversee deliverable production including but not limited P&ID’s and Design Basis Memorandum
to ensure compliance with industry codes, environmental guidelines, client specifications, quality
assurance program and project work plan
.• Coordinate with project engineers, other discipline engineers, and construction teams to
ensure consistency in execution of project management activities.
• Interface with Client to discuss design requirements and project status updates during weekly and
design reviews.

Experience:
• 3-6 years of experience focusing on oil and gas pipeline facilities such as:
      o Compressor stations
      o Pump stations
      o Metering and regulating stations
      o Storage terminals
      o Loading/unloading facilities
• Experience with Caesar II is preferred
• Familiar with industry codes and standards published by US Department of Transportation, AGA, ANSI, API, ASME, ASTM, CFR 192/195 and NFPA, with the ability to apply the standards to oil and gas pipeline facility systems designs.

Education/Training:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• E.I.T. required, P.E. preferred

Competencies:
• Possess sound judgment: interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and work with multidisciplinary teams; and deal with complex issues and 
  maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to prepare and interpret design reports, recognize problems, and define and evaluate solutions.

Other Criteria:
• Must be willing to travel to project sites to collect field data and perform field inspections.
• Complies with Strike’s policies and procedures.
• Complies with Strike’s Drug & Alcohol Policy maintaining favorable drug testing results throughout employment. • Performs job safely with respect to others, property and individual safety.
